Greg Howell, Chief Executive Officer

Greg Howell is the CEO of Intricate Group, where he leads with a visionary, people-first approach that fosters innovation and integration across energy consulting, technology, carbon strategies, and field services. A lifelong entrepreneur with a background in instrumentation engineering technology, he has built high-performing teams and successful ventures across the oil and gas industry. Since founding Intricate in 2007, he has shaped its evolution into a legacy-driven organization rooted in trust, long-term thinking, and meaningful impact. His practical, forward-looking leadership style continues to evolve through ongoing development and collaboration. Greg remains deeply committed to empowering people and delivering sustainable solutions. Outside of work, he values time with his wife Kim and their three daughters, Ava, Isla, and Adeline.

Jesse Elcombe, Director of Consulting

Jesse Elcombe is the Director of Consulting at Intricate, where he brings nearly a decade of regulatory, environmental, and emissions management experience within the Canadian energy sector. His leadership emphasizes operational clarity, accountability, and strategic foresight, ensuring Intricate’s clients receive practical, measurable outcomes in complex regulatory environments. With a background in environmental science and compliance auditing, Jesse has worked across upstream operations and consulting, partnering with clients to design and implement regulatory strategies that drive efficiency, mitigate risk, and unlock long-term value. Outside of work, Jesse enjoys life on his family’s hobby ranch, where he cares for a small herd of cattle and works on renovating their historic farmhouse. He values time with his wife and children and enjoys playing men’s league hockey and spending time outdoors, balancing his professional drive with a love for family and nature.

Kirk Howell, Director of Business Development

Kirk Howell is the Director of Business Development at Intricate, where he brings more than 25 years of energy sector experience spanning operations, strategy, and executive roles. He has led high-performing teams, advised on climate compliance initiatives, and helped shape business and technology strategies across upstream and midstream operations. With a background in instrumentation engineering and a track record of industry involvement, Kirk has contributed to several national organizations focused on measurement, regulation, and innovation. At Intricate, he leads business growth initiatives, client relationships, and strategic partnerships that align services with evolving industry needs. Known for his entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to organizational excellence, Kirk is passionate about helping people and projects succeed. Outside of work, Kirk enjoys cross-country skiing, family travel, and adventure cycling, and balances high-performance goals with community-building and the occasional glass of wine.

Colin Gendre, Director of Carbon Strategies

Colin Gendre is the Director of Carbon Strategies at Intricate, where he brings over 20 years of experience in instrumentation, controls, and automation to help guide the company’s evolving carbon and emissions portfolio. Since joining Intricate in 2012, he has led teams, built systems, and helped launch new service offerings. His background spans hands-on fieldwork, integrated services leadership, and early contributions to software development and regulatory-approved technologies. A long-standing member of Intricate’s leadership team, Colin plays a key role in shaping strategy and contributing to corporate decision-making. His leadership is grounded in technical depth and a drive for continuous improvement. Outside of work, he’ at home on the family farm, where he enjoys working with his hands and staying close to the land. He values time with his wife and two daughters and loves camping, fishing, hunting, or tackling projects that reflect his passion for building and lifelong learning.

Trevor Green, Director of Technologies

Trevor Green is the Director of Technology at Intricate, bringing over 25 years of experience in industrial automation, software development, and IT infrastructure within the oil and gas sector. He plays a key role in leading digital transformation efforts, delivering secure, practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy. With a background in applied sciences, instrumentation engineering, and project management, Trevor has spearheaded the development of platforms such as Intricate’s SCADA system and Fuel Flare Vent System (FFVS), helping bridge the gap between field operations and regulatory requirements. Known for his collaborative leadership style, he empowers teams to deliver adaptable, future-ready technology. Outside of work, Trevor is passionate about emerging technologies, woodworking, and mentoring young athletes. He’s actively involved in kids’ hockey as a volunteer and Sparx Ambassador, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, camping, hiking, and exploring hands-on projects that blend innovation with craftsmanship.

Hellmut Regehr, Director of Marketing

He builds strong teams by leveraging individual strengths and leading from the front, a philosophy that defines his leadership style and the culture he fosters. With a background in instrumentation, SCADA systems, communications, and upstream operations, Jeremy is known for his practical mindset, technical insight, and commitment to field-level excellence. He plays a critical role in delivering emissions services that are grounded in safety, reliability, and real-world application. Trusted across field teams and client sites alike, Jeremy’s steady presence and leadership continue to drive performance in dynamic environments. Outside of work, he’s a devoted dad who enjoys jetboating, hunting, fishing, restoring classic vehicles, and helping his wife with their horses on the family farm.

Jesse Darling, Director of Integrated Field Services

Jesse Darling is the Director of Integrated Field Services at Intricate, where he brings more than 25 years of experience in instrumentation, maintenance, engineering, and field operations across the oil and gas sector. His expertise includes process safety, project management, and commissioning and start-up (CSU) activities, with a practical understanding of what crews need to perform at their best. With a background in instrumentation engineering, Jesse leads one of Intricate’s field operations teams with a focus on strong communication, skill development, and a culture of accountability without over-management. Outside of work, he lives on an acreage with his family and enjoys spending time outdoors. He and his two teenage children make the most of every chance to travel, explore nature, and enjoy time together.

Tamatha Forster, Director of HR | HSE

Tamatha Forster is the Director of HR | HSE at Intricate, where she brings a strong people-centered approach to leadership across human resources, health and safety, and organizational culture. Since joining Intricate in 2019, Tamatha has held progressive roles across multiple teams, gaining a deep understanding of the business from the ground up. Her background spans leadership, wellness, operations, and safety, supported by training in coaching, HR foundations, and occupational health and safety systems. Tamatha is known for leading with integrity, transparency, and strategic clarity, helping shape practices and cultures that foster both individual and organization growth.
